Risk notice
Read this before you trade with real money.
Trading crypto-assets and shares can lose money, including all of it. These are the risks that matter most, in plain words.
The five that matter most
Your bot can lose all the money in the accounts it trades.
Your bot follows your rules, even bad ones.
Backtests and paper trading are not live trading.
A stop is a trigger, not a floor.
Your exchange, broker, cloud account or Vengyr can fail.
You can lose all the money in the accounts your bot trades
Your bot can lose all the money in the accounts it trades. Only trade money you can afford to lose. Crypto-assets and shares can fall fast and far. Crypto-assets are not covered by deposit guarantee schemes or investor compensation schemes, and protection for shares depends on your broker and its country.
Your bot does exactly what your rules say, including when that is a mistake
Your bot follows your rules, even bad ones. Vengyr doesn't stop a rule you approved. A rule that looked good in a test can lose money live. Overriding a test removes a check you would otherwise have had.
Tests and paper results don't predict the future
Backtests and paper trading are not live trading. Past prices don't repeat. Tests leave out some costs, slippage and the chance that your trade moves the price. Paper results don't include the emotions of real money.
Limits reduce some risks; they don't remove them
A stop is a trigger, not a floor. In a fast market, or when a venue pauses trading, your stop can fill well below its price, or not at all. A maximum daily loss is checked by your bot at set times and can be passed between checks.
Things outside your rules can fail
Your exchange, broker, cloud account or Vengyr can fail. An exchange or broker can go down, freeze withdrawals or become insolvent. Your cloud provider can stop your bot, for example if your card fails. A bug in the software can cause a wrong trade or a missed one. If Vengyr is down, your bot keeps running, but you may not see its state in the app.
AI can be wrong
AI agents can be wrong, out of date or confidently mistaken. Check what they write. They don't know your whole financial situation and never tell you what to buy, sell or hold. A change they propose is tested on past data only.
Other risks
Keys. Anyone with your keys can trade your account. Vengyr refuses keys that can withdraw, but a trade key can still be used to lose money.
Tax. Trading creates tax duties. Vengyr's figures are estimates for your own filing.
Rules change. New laws or a venue's decision can stop some assets or features in your country.
Crowded methods. If many people run the same method on the same asset, prices can move against all of them.
Costs. Your cloud provider bills you directly. Trading fees, spreads and funding costs reduce results.
